Interested in peace and social justice activism? The Student Peace Action Network (SPAN) invites you to the 2008 SPAN CONVERGENCE, a weekend training camp for students seeking to end the war, fight climate change, abolish nuclear weapons, and build student power! Click here to register!

WHO CAN ATTEND?
Anyone! The SPAN Convergence is open to students and youth of all ages and experience levels. It's a great way to learn new skills and improve old ones! Need help getting to DC? We have travel scholarships available!

Registration costs $20-50 sliding scale, although no one will be turned away for lack of funds. This fee is to cover the cost of food, housing, and the venue for the convergence. Click here to register online today!

- Organizing 101: how to build your power, develop an effective strategy, and win campaigns
- Nonviolent Direct Action: how to plan effective actions
- Iraq Veterans Against the War Panel: learn about the war in Iraq directly from the soldiers themselves
- GI Outreach: how to build resistance to war within the military
- Facilitation: how to run effective, democratic meetings (that aren't boring!)
- Peace Voter: how to influence elections, register voters, and move candidates
- Anti-Oppression: how to confront racism in movements for change
- Military Recruiters and Student Privacy: tactics for countering the military in our schools and protecting our rights as students
- Separation of Oil and State: learn about resource war and its connections to global climate change
- Think Outside the Bomb: learn about student-led movements for a nuclear-free world
- DIY Screen Printing: how to make your own prints for fabric and paper
- Creative Arts and Protest: how to create effective imagery for your actions
TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE:

HOUSING:
Students attending the SPAN convergence will have three housing options:
- FREE mass housing at a local venue: You will need to provide your own bed roll (sleeping bag, linens, pillow, etc.)
- FREE homestays, in which you will stay in the home of a local volunteer throughout the convergence. You will need to provide your own bed roll (sleeping bag, linens, pillow, etc.)
- There are two dorm options at Trinity College: The 'Dorm Style' room has two double beds and one shared bath per wing ($29/night). Linens are included. The 'hotel style' room has two double beds and a private bath ($38/night). Linens are included.
FOOD:
Meals will be provided throughout the weekend and are covered by the registration fee.

Intern with SPAN for school credit in D.C.
Want to learn how to be an effective activist? Want to become a key organizer for a national network of student activists? Want to earn college credit doing something you love?
